HeatShield®
Flue Repair & Restoration
Cracked flue tiles, gaps between flue tiles, and deteriorated clay liners can compromise the safety and performance of your chimney. As a HeatShield® Certified Installer, Lakeside Chimney restores many damaged flue systems using the UL-listed HeatShield® restoration process—often without the expense of a complete stainless steel chimney liner. We help homeowners restore safety, improve performance, and extend the life of their existing chimney system.
Repair Damaged Clay Flue Liners Without a Full Chimney Reline
WHY FLUE LINERS FAIL
Hidden Flue Damage Can Become a Serious Safety Hazard.
For many years, repairing a damaged clay flue liner often meant one of two options: removing and replacing the clay flue tiles by partially rebuilding the chimney, or installing a stainless steel chimney liner. While both methods are still appropriate in certain situations, today's technology provides another proven solution for many chimneys.
HeatShield® allows us to repair deteriorated mortar joints, restore damaged clay flue liners, and seal many defects from inside the chimney without removing the existing flue tiles. Following a professional ChimScan camera inspection, we'll determine whether your chimney qualifies for HeatShield® restoration or whether another repair method is the safest and most effective solution.
WHAT IS HEATSHIELD®?
Restore Your Existing Flue Instead of Replacing It
HeatShield® is a specialized chimney restoration system designed to repair and restore damaged clay tile flue liners without removing the existing liner. Depending on the condition of the chimney, the system can repair missing or deteriorated mortar joints between flue tiles or resurface the interior of the flue using HeatShield's proprietary Cerfractory® material—a hybrid ceramic and refractory coating engineered to withstand the extreme temperatures found inside a chimney.
As a HeatShield Certified Installer, we begin with a detailed ChimScan camera inspection to determine whether your chimney qualifies for Joint Repair, Cerfractory Resurfacing, or if another solution—such as a stainless steel liner—is the safer long-term option. Our goal is always to recommend the repair that best restores the chimney's ability to safely contain and vent the products of combustion.
